League Policies

Drugs & Alcohol

Zero Tolerance Policy: Stonewall Dodgeball DC has a zero-tolerance policy for drugs and alcohol at any of our sports facilities. Discovery of either in any fashion (by the Pit Crew, facility staff, facility members, etc.) will result in immediate expulsion from the league without a refund, no questions asked. Violators will also be barred from registering for the next season. The Pit Crew takes this very seriously. Anyone breaking these rules puts the entire league in jeopardy.

Officials

    1. Referees are responsible for:
      1. Maintaining the game clock.
      2. Recording the game score.
      3. Enforcing the honor system.
      4. Enforcing penalties.
      5. Enforcing the ball control.
      6. Readmitting players who mistakenly called themselves out.
      7. The Pit Crew On Call (PCOC) is the head official, and will make calls otherwise not seen by the game officials.
    2. The head referee shall eject a player from the remainder of match if that player engages in unsportsmanlike conduct, behaves in an egregious manner, or cheats.

Referee Assignments

Intentionally Not Providing Referees: If the team does not provide any referees for the scheduled match for which the team was assigned to referee, the team will be docked -2 points for each of the 3 players for a total of -6 points for each match that had no refs. The Pit Crew will review the scenario with the Captain and/or Co-Captain; if upon review, it is determined by the Pit Crew that the act of not providing referees was intentional for any or all of the scheduled matches, an additional penalty will be applied to the team. The penalty for intentionally not providing referees is that the team will automatically forfeit any and all matches scheduled for the following week's scheduled games. If the following week is playoffs, the team will forfeit their playoff matches.

Player Drop Out Procedures

Player Drop Out: If a player wishes to drop out of the league OR he/she is injured and it is during Week 1 or 2 of the League, he/she should notify his/her Captain. The Captain should then notify the Pit Crew via email. The Pit Crew will confirm with the player that he/she wishes to drop out of the league. If the player is non-responsive/the Player confirms with the Pit Crew that they wish to drop out of the league, the Pit Crew will remove the player from the League (without compensation). The Pit Crew will then reach out to the current season of wait-listed players. The first wait listed player to confirm interest for the position, pay the pro-rated season cost, and sign the season waiver will be assigned to the team. Captains cannot choose their new player.

Player No Shows: If a player has not shown up during Week 1 and 2 of the league and/or is non-responsive to communications from his/her captain, the captain should notify the Pit Crew via email prior to the 3rd match. The Pit Crew will contact the Player and Captain via email and give the Player five days to respond. If there is no response, the Pit Crew will consider the player non-responsive and will remove the player from the League without compensation. The Pit Crew will then reach out to the current season of wait-listed players. The first wait listed player to confirm interest for the position, pay the pro-rated season cost, and sign the season waiver will be assigned to the team. Captains cannot choose their new player.

Pro-rated amount calculation is as follows:

-Players will be charged for a season shirt plus a fee per match remaining.

-If there is no current season available, Players will be charged a fee per match remaining

-For example - In an 8 Week season in 2016, if Ben joins the league on Week 3 (5 regular season games remaining for her to play plus 1 game for Playoffs) and there is a shirt available, he would be charged $12 (2016 Season shirt cost) + $30 ($5/match remaining for 2016) for a total of $42.

-Costs will be adjusted for different seasons. Please contact the Pit Crew with questions on current season costs.

-After Week 3, if a player drops out, stops showing up to games, is injured, etc, AND the number of remaining active players on the roster falls below the maximum allowed on the court for current season, then a replacement player(s) would be allowed at the discretion of the Pit Crew. A team can only get replacement players that will bring their team up to the maximum allowed on the court for the current season. Replacement Players will have to pay the same pro-rated fees to Stonewall Dodgeball DC as stated above.
